Rusty Skeletons in Paradise
Photographed during travels through Australia, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia, this series shows rusted remains of abandoned and burned vehicles embedded in lush, seemingly untouched landscapes. The contrast between decaying, man-made technology and vibrant nature creates a strong visual tension and reflects on impermanence, time, and human presence. On Vanuatu and the smaller islands of New Caledonia, the simplicity of everyday life further emphasizes this contrast, allowing the vehicles to appear as quiet remnants slowly being reclaimed by nature.
